The Sobeys on the main strip handles most of what you need without leaving the neighbourhood — Shoppers Drug Mart is next door, and the dining strip means takeout is a real weeknight option rather than an afterthought. Both Holy Angels School and Riverbend School sit within the core, and a handful of bus routes connect the neighbourhood to downtown and across the southeast without much fuss. The RIVERBEND off-leash park pulls people in from McKenzie Lake and Douglasdale/Glen on weekend mornings — it's one of the better-sized ones in this part of the city. The neighbourhood has the settled quality of a place where turnover is low and the trees are grown in: quiet, not sleepy.
